Choose the right judo mats for home, dojo and training space

For most homes, interlocking EVA mats or a folding mat are the easiest choices because they are simple to fit, move and store.

Thickness depends on the training you plan to do. More cushioning suits heavier floor work, while firmer mats can feel better for stable movement.

They can be, especially for light to moderate training areas. Check the join quality, surface texture and intended use before buying.

A tatami-style look is useful for dedicated martial arts spaces, but the right surface matters more than appearance alone.

Measure the room carefully and leave space around the edges for movement, exits and any wall clearance you want to keep.

They are useful for drills, conditioning and floor-based practice where portability and storage are priorities.
